San Diego,  USS Midway Tour

                                                View from the USS Midway

Old Town, San Diego

Fresh Tortillas for our meal

Scenery changes along the way.

We by passed Los Angeles to avoid the crazy traffic....

On To Simi Valley, CA to The Ronald Reagan Library.  This was one of the greatest highlights of our trip.  Boyd and I both had tears rolling down our face when we left the last room of the library.

The Tomb of Ronald Reagan.  Nancy is 93 and will be buried here when she passes

Every US President's picture was on
display along the drive up to the mountain

  • The Air Force One,  a Boeing 707, was accepted into the Air Force on August 4, 1972
  • It flew seven US Presidents - Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, H.W. Bush, Clinton, W. Bush
  • The Air Force One was transported to the Reagan Library by truck, on a specially designed trailer crossing four freeways, traveling 104 miles.
  • The truck departed San Bernardino at 11:00 pm on June 20, 2003 and arrived at the Library on June 21, 2003
  • With the roof and 2 1/2 walls of the Pavilion constructed AFOne was towed inside on September 20, 2004
  • Air Force One seats 52 passengers plus Air Force Crew

I snapped a photo of Boyd before we went into the plane.  I think this is against the rules but I didn't know

                              Camping over Malibu Beach

Strolling on the beach...I face-timed my daughter from the beach and was able to show the grand kids the water.  I love this great age of technology!!

Eating along the water at Malibu.  The seafood was so much better in Destin.

                                Sunset on Malibu

View over looking our camp ground in Malibu.  This camp site was $62.00.  We got the winter rate.  Most of our trip has been around $30 to 35 a night.  So much cheaper to bring your hotel room with you and the rates go down after Labor Day.

The view gets even more gorgeous the farther north you go.  Headed to San Francisco today.
